Hello, I’m on my way now with the first day of radiation and chemo with the pump. Not sure how to deal with this pump but
will know in a few days. Have radiation 5 days of the week and the chemo pump changed out on Monday and Friday. It’s only Monday and I am already looking forward to the weekend.
Hang in there Ed! The weeks will go by faster then you think! The pump for me was easy to get used to. After a while I hardly knew it was there. Sending you positive thoughts and prayers!
You will get used to that pump Ed…I know I would look for it when they took it off because I was so used to it strappe to my waste and the little sounds it made…lol. We are so adaptable.
Know strength!

My mother was diagnozed with Stage 3 Rectal a few weeks ago and it is expected that she will start with a 5-FU chemo pump (baby bottle) that gets changed each week and then 5 days of radiation. I want to help her be as comfortable as possible while she stays at my home.
Do you have any tips on how I should prepare my home so she is comfortable and has everything she needs at her finger tips? Thank you
Hello,
I think you can join this blog for your mom and there are many people have more experience than I on advice as I just sort of started. What we did for me, was to keep the house warm and clean, with the bedroom next to the bath. Also we have no up stairs and if we did , we would have everything on the bottom floor. I’ve only had this pump for 2-3 days and its no problem to get use to. Good luck and God Bless…. Ed
Ed; It looks like I work backwards in my emails. Anyway thanks for your response to my last post to you. Yes we are all here in spirit, and we know how you feel. Good to have friends, especially new ones like you Ed.
